BEACH RACES
Event Description
The Motorcycle Beach races is the only motorcycle beach race in Australia and has been run in the Mackay region since 1926. This event is one of the oldest motorcycle events in Australia and is the only competitive motorcycle beach race in Australia at present. It is currently held annually at the Northern end of the Grasstree Beach foreshore, approximately 35min south of Mackay. Since 2016, the event has catered for 250+ competitors across 34 races (with a number travelling from Interstate and Overseas), more than 350 event officials and volunteers, and over 5000 spectators; we have International X Games competitors, current Australian Champions from many different disciplines as well as locals competing. There are 13 classes including juniors, seniors, quad bikes and street bikes. The racing is unique with the final King of the Beach Race top 10 riders from each Senior dirt bike and street bike Class Qualify for the King of the Beach Race Finale
